About Wartburg

Wartburg offers integrated, comprehensive senior care services for your changing life. Unlike conventional retirement communities, we provide a wide range of services to both residents and people in their own homes. From independent, assisted living and award-winning nursing home care to rehabilitation, home care and adult day care services, our continuing care approach means you can trust us to be here for your family – how, when and where you need us to be. We also provide caregiver support every step of the way, so you can navigate your options and find the level of care that’s right for your whole family.

Perhaps that’s why U.S. News & World Report has named Wartburg one of the “Best Nursing Homes in New York State” for eight consecutive years.

At Wartburg, ours is a vision of healing and hope upheld through care that touches on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health . . . and it has been for over 150 years. Founded in 1866 and caring for older loved ones since 1898, we believe that everyone we serve is family. That includes our residents, their families, staff and volunteers. Listening and understanding has ensured our success more than anything else.

And because we’re a not-for-profit, we can reinvest in our commitment to serving others, rather than pay dividends to shareholders. As needs change, we have more resources to dedicate to expansions, staffing and advances in care: In fact, in 2013 we opened an affordable senior housing complex as well as a state-of-the-art rehabilitation center.

All residents have the opportunity to benefit from our award-winning Council for Creative Aging & Lifelong Learning. As a member of the National Center for Creative Aging, Wartburg’s Council draws from a network of artists and arts organizations to help our residents grow, express themselves and find new meaning. The Council offers programs in painting, ceramics, horticulture, quilting, music, writing, oral history and theater.

Beyond our campus, we extend our helping hand into our community through civic organizations, religious groups and neighbors across Westchester County, NY.

Assisted Living Services for the Greater Mt. Vernon, NY Area

Mount Vernon and the surrounding towns of Eastchester, Scarsdale, Bronxville, Larchmont, Pelham, and New Rochelle make up one of the most populous areas in the state of New York. As suburbs of New York City, these towns are home to many families who have lived here for generations. As we age, our usual chores and routines become more difficult for us than they used to be. However, most seniors want things to remain as normal as possible for as long as they can. Wartburg’s mission is to help residents of the greater Mt. Vernon area remain in their homes for as long as possible. Studies show that patients who can remain in their own homes benefit from better memory, higher morale, and even improved recovery times! Our comprehensive independent senior living services are designed to help our clients maintain their daily routines in their own homes without sacrificing comfort, safety, or dignity.

For clients who need a higher level of care, Wartburg offers comfortable and personalized accommodations that can be adjusted depending on your loved one’s specific needs. We offer independent senior apartments for seniors who are able to operate independently but would prefer not to worry about the hassles of homeownership any longer; we also offer assisted living with a greater level of assistance. Our skilled nursing staff provides more robust services, including memory care, rehabilitative services, and more. Finally, we offer palliative or hospice care to help you, your loved one, and your family through difficult times. Our mission at Wartburg is to provide targeted assistance at every stage.

If you are looking for home health care for a loved one, give the team at Wartburg a call today! Our home health aides are here to provide quality, compassionate care services.
