Outpatient Speech Therapy
Many Bronx County residents are affected by speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing difficulties. We understand that any injury or illness that impacts speech can be quite frustrating and Wartburg offers outpatient speech therapy services for our patients whose speech, voice, and ability to swallow have been affected by a disorder, injury, or illness. Through outpatient work, our patients are able to live a normal life but still get to take advantage of our care options and treatment plans that they can also practice at home and on their own time.
Adults can develop speech issues after suffering from a stroke, traumatic brain injury, concussion, or have neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s Disease or MS. At Wartburg, our team has the ability to treat a variety of speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders. Each treatment plan is tailored to the unique needs of each patient. We will be able to identify areas of improvement, develop goals and teach strategies to improve communication. We also work with patients who have cognitive difficulties, including problems with short-term memory, organization, and planning.
Every patient of ours, no matter the exact nature of their speech, language, or swallowing problem, will get an individualized treatment plan to complete in order to get better and learn new ways to improve their daily functioning.

Our staff helps our patients who are having a hard time articulating, breathing, eating and swallowing, as well as those who are in pain.
