The Nurse Manager is responsible for the direction of resident care as assigned and performs the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, directing and evaluating resident care on all shifts. He or she is responsible for the effective management of assigned staff, supplies, and equipment, including promoting team work and high morale. He or she ensures the provision of quality services in compliance with the established policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and the facility. The ideal incumbent will have exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills and will be able to lead his/her team successfully, even under challenging circumstances.
- An Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required, with a BSN preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory/management experience with 5 years preferred.
- At least 2 years of professional nursing experience must have been in an acute care setting, with an additional 2 years in a long-term care setting preferred.
- Current NYS RN License and Certification required, as well as BLS Healthcare Provider Certification. Preference given to those with a Gerontology Certification.
