Mount Vernon, NY (July 14,2025) Wartburg is proud to announce it has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Field Hall Foundation to support the expansion of its Circle of Friends program within its Adult Day Services. This funding will enhance Wartburg’s commitment to delivering inclusive, compassionate care to older adults with complex needs in Westchester County.
The Field Hall Foundation, a private foundation whose mission is to improve the lives of older adults and their caregivers, supports programs that directly impact low-income and vulnerable older adults in Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester Counties. This generous grant will help Wartburg broaden access to specialized programming for some of the most underserved members of our community.
Wartburg’s Circle of Friends is a unique component of the organization’s Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) program, tailored for older adults in their late 60s to 90s living with developmental or intellectual disabilities, mid- to late-stage dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and other physical and cognitive challenges. The program provides a warm, supportive space designed for socialization, creativity, and connection.
“With this support from the Field Hall Foundation, we are able to expand and enrich a program that brings joy, dignity, and engagement to some of our most vulnerable participants,” said David J. Gentner, President & CEO of Wartburg. “This funding allows us to deepen our commitment to inclusive care and to ensure that every individual-regardless of ability-has meaningful opportunities for connection and fulfillment.”
The grant will support program enhancements including therapeutic activities tailored to individual abilities, live entertainment, and staff training to better support diverse needs. Participants remain at the heart of every element of programming, ensuring their voices and preferences guide the care they receive.
Wartburg is honored to partner with the Field Hall Foundation in advancing its mission and is deeply grateful for their investment in the health and wellbeing of older adults in our region.
