Wartburg Earns Spot on Newsweek Best Nursing Home Ranking

WARTBURG EARNS SPOT ON NEWSWEEK BEST NURSING HOME RANKING

MOUNT VERNON, NY (September 24, 2021) Newsweek publishes “America’s Best Nursing Homes 2022” with Wartburg receiving top honors. Newsweek partnered with the respected global data research firm Statista Inc. to establish a ranking of “Best Nursing Homes” by analyzing data from over 10,000 nursing homes in the U.S. The “best” nursing homes in the 25 most populous states are published in the report. While these listings are not new, what is timely about this ranking is that it includes a “Reputation Score” variable as well as a “COVID-19 Score.”

According to Statista, Inc., the Best Nursing Homes 2022 ranking lists the best nursing homes in the 25 states with the highest population size according to The United States Census Bureau. Newsweek and Statista designed a rigorous methodology that provided a score for every evaluated nursing home and the scores were based on three key indicators:

Performance Data: The U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides monthly performance data for each nursing home according to health inspections, quality measures, and staffing.
Reputation Survey: In cooperation with Newsweek, Statista invited 10,000 medical experts — including registered nurses, nursing home managers and administrators, nursing assistants, therapists, and physicians — to complete an online survey that assessed nursing homes.
COVID-19 Response: Each nursing home’s response to the pandemic was evaluated according to its Resident Impact, Facility Capacity, Staff & Personnel, Supplies & Personal Protective Equipment, and Vaccination Rates of Residents.

Wartburg has garnered many local and national recognitions over the years for their superior quality of care and renowned level of service. In addition to Newsweek, Wartburg is consistently recognized by the New York State Department of Health (DOH) for receiving a Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI) score that ranked them in the top (First) quintile for Quality. The NHQI score is comprised of fourteen quality performance measures in compliance and efficiency.
