“It’s becoming harder for families to care for their elders at home. We care for them here and give their loved ones a break.
“I assist the seniors who come to both our medical and social models with personal grooming and hygiene and with their meals. I also try and be here for their families. Sometimes, it’s hard for them to make the decision to ask for help. I encourage them, guide them and develop a relationship with them.
“Over the years, you can see their loved one’s abilities change – some go from being fairly independent to needing total care. We may see those changes before the family does and help them with that.
“At Wartburg, we’re encouraged to take care of our clients the best way we know how. I love taking care of people – and I have a soft spot in my heart for seniors.”
