October 28, 2015 – MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – October 28th is declared “David J. Gentner Day” in Westchester County to honor Wartburg’s President and CEO.
At a recent Macedonia Baptist Church Gala in Mt. Vernon, County Legislator Lyndon Williams declared October 28, David J. Gentner Day in Westchester County. This honor was bestowed upon Wartburg’s President and CEO while he accepted the Award for Excellence in Adult Care.
“While I am thankful to County Legislator Lyndon Williams for this honor, I am humbled every day by Wartburg’s remarkable staff who are much more deserving of recognition for their dedication to those entrusted to our care,” said David J. Gentner, Wartburg President and CEO.
Mr. Gentner has positioned Wartburg for unprecedented growth with the opening of a new state-of-the-art, 71,000 square foot Rehabilitation and Adult Day Services Center and a 51-apartment affordable housing facility, lauded by The New York Times, on Wartburg’s beautiful 34-acre campus. Mr. Gentner cares not only about Wartburg’s residents, patients and Adult Day Services registrants, but those who prefer to age at home. To ensure the same quality of care received by those who call Wartburg home, Mr. Gentner has led the expansion of Wartburg’s home care services to include Westchester and now the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Nassau County, Long Island. Mr. Gentner’s vision for expanding our continuum of care includes an Outpatient Rehabilitation program in the Rehabilitation Center, currently under construction and scheduled to open late Fall 2015.
“Wartburg’s Board of Directors, staff and volunteers are proud to recognize David for this honor,” said Angela Ciminello, Wartburg’s Director of Development and Marketing. “As we begin to celebrate our 150th anniversary, David’s vision and leadership ensures our aging population will receive the superior care they need to live their best life, now and for generations to come.”
