Clinical Pastoral Education Opportunities Available at Wartburg

[Mount Vernon, New York] – Wartburg, an award-winning provider of comprehensive senior residential and healthcare services, seeks Clinical Pastoral Education interns for an extended CPE unit beginning this fall. Candidates will serve as a pastoral presence in Wartburg’s skilled nursing and rehab facilities, as well as in the assisted living community. Clinical supervision is provided by Rev. Silvia Misina of Lutheran Partners, a distance learning program that is working successfully with CPE interns around the world. Our campus is in southern Westchester County, New York, just at the northern rim of New York City, in Mt. Vernon. Wartburg’s Director of Spiritual Care is the Rev. Kimberli Lile, a Lutheran pastor, and Board-Certified Chaplain.

Our campus offers two CPE units per year. The fall educational unit begins September 6, 2022 and concludes at the end of February. Next spring, the subsequent CPE unit will start at the beginning of March 2023 and continue through the summer. Each intern will be engaged an average of 12.5 hours per week during a 25-week unit. We seek candidates who are available during hours attuned to the rhythm of our residents’ daily life.
