WESTCHESTER’S WARTBURG OPENS HOME HEALTH OFFICE IN QUEENS (New Office Will Service Manhattan, Brooklyn and Nassau County)
Wartburg, an award-winning provider of comprehensive services for seniors in Westchester and the Bronx, has expanded to Queens and has opened a Wartburg Care at Home office at 5 Continental Avenue in Forest Hills.
The new office will provide skilled nursing, medication monitoring and home health aide services (even a “bath and breakfast” service) for seniors who live in Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn and Nassau County.
“The expansion into Queens and surrounding boroughs and counties builds on the success of our home care services in Westchester and in the Bronx,” said David Gentner, president and CEO of Wartburg. “While we have a beautiful 34-acre campus with new day care and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living and independent living residences, home care is at the core of our vision – to keep older adults in their homes as they age.”
Mary Queally, RN, BSN, MBA, administrator of home care at Wartburg, and a certified geriatric care manager, said: “Whether a senior needs home health care just a few hours a week, or requires comprehensive 24/7 care, we have seasoned caring professionals to meet those needs. Many of our professional nursing staff, for example, are qualified by the Alzheimer’s Association as dementia care specialists.”
Wartburg Care at Home is a licensed home health agency. Seniors experiencing difficulties with routine activities, chronic illness or disabilities are cared for by a team of licensed professionals and home health aides, all under the direct supervision of registered nurses. Care is covered by long term care insurance, workers’ compensation, no fault insurance and private pay.
